Marine Focus is a registered business name in Queensland Australia for the purposes of promoting my photos and registering the commercial domain name (marinefocus.com.au). My name is Peter Reissenweber and I am responsible for the web sites development and the photographic content on the web site.
I have been a keen diver since 1997 and took up underwater photography in 2006 with a small Olympus point and shoot style camera. Gradually I have progressed to using a Canon SLR with two strobes which has improved the quality of my photography with the help and guidance of my friends.
I am a member of two local independent dive clubs in Brisbane the VMR Lionfish Dive Club and the local branch of the British Sub Aqua club (see Favourites). Being a member of these clubs helps me explore a wider range of dive sites than I could alone or through my local dive shop. That is not to say that I don't appreciate the support the shops give myself and many of the clubs through quality servicing, organised trips, gear discounts and air fills.
The majority of photos shown in the gallery were taken off the coast of South East Queensland in Australia. There are other shots taken on the Great Barrier Reef, Byron Bay, Vanuatu, Sipadan and PNG. I hope to expand the website in the future to show photos from fellow underwater photographers and naturally more geographic locations that I dive. See the Google Maps section for more detail on the areas where the photos have been taken.
